| This course has been designed to provide basic principles and day-to-day financial management rules and requirements under the FMSiS |

This course has been specially devised for School Leaders who would like to make a start on the strategic analysis of their schools budget structure. |
understanding the roles and responsibilities of key financial personnel and processes
being able to use the Consistent Financial Reporting Framework for the purpose of coding and financial transactions
being aware of key financial rules and regulations and important basic checks and balances that are required to be built into school procedures
understanding the Budget Management Reporting Requirements detailed within FMSiS and the purpose of this
understanding the phases involved in awarding contracts on how those will vary for contracts awarded through tendering processes

Use the schools benchmarking website to obtain details of the financial structure of a nearest match set of schools
Enter participants financial data into pre-prepared Excel spreadsheets for evaluation purposes
Use processed developed in the programme to interpret, compare and differentiate their school?s performance from the benchmarking cohort
Identify management issues for further exploration and resolution with teaching colleagues and Governors, particularly links with the school development plan

In the case of Financial Basics, there can be up to 25 participants per course. Course cost is £175 for NAHT members, £200 for non members.
For Financial Benchmarking, there can be a maximum of 7 schools represented, with a maximum of 3 participants per school. The cost for the first person from a school is £300 for NAHT members, £350 for non members. Up to two additional participants can attend at £50 for NAHT members, £60 for non members.
